Alright. Let's set these expectations.

So you're probably thinking...

"Alexii. Who do you think you are? You're not a celebrity...or rich. Nobody gives a hey what you think."

Alright. So you can call it practice...my boss this past summer gave me this idea to start a blog and "report" issues that I'm passionate about since that is in fact what I'd like to do as a career. Feel free to contact me if you hate my opinions, have a good reason why I'm "wrong", or if you just want to be friends! I'll try my best not to dwell on my boring undergraduate life or rant about love life (or lack thereof) and/or brag about the millions of gay men who consider me to be their Messiah.

Alright. That was a little extreme. Even though 90% of my male friends are in fact Gay--that statement was a bit much. And let's just make it known that I allow myself to joke that I am "the gay Messiah" since I have been an equal rights activist since the age of 4 (when my mom's best friend had a tea party for me as I apparently talked about how I wanted to travel and help people...except at that time I was going to be a doctor...good thing my writing is just as helpful...please note the sarcasm), a really good "hag" (you know the preface to that word...) since the age of 12 (when I realized that every boy I had feelings for happened to like boys) and a political science/crazy community service volunteer since 14 when I began campaigning for the 2004 election.

My name means "helper of mankind." I've grown up with this crazy idea that I can save the world. And I love to write. So I'm trying to make a career out of both. Let's just see how that works out ;)

I promise when I write of things of actual importance my grammar will be a bit more polished and my research will be valid (not wikipedia). But until then I'll be here...in my dorm...writing in my journal...and now on this blog! So enjoy! And until then...Go 'heels!
